#58 - Send flowers to my Grandmother. (1/2)

For the Mother's Day holiday, I sent my Grandma Mary (my dad's mom) flowers to brighten up her room since she is still in the physical therapy building at her Senior Living Community. She fell a few months ago and she has to stay in the PT area for a few more months until she is fully healed.

Here are the flowers I picked out:

It even came w/ the pink vase shown - Pretty, huh? I plan to send a bouquet to my other Grandma (my mom's mom) before we arrive to see her in June as a fun surprise. :)

What's your favorite flower?

PS: I'm working on my vlog I recorded over a week ago...apparently it's a little too long to upload so I need to break it down before I post it. Sorry for the delay!

#91 - See a play.

Over the weekend, my mom, grandma, mother-in-law, & I enjoyed a Ladies Day Out. We had a great time at Olive Garden for lunch and then headed to the Indiana Repertory Theatre to see A Christmas Carol.

My Grandma, me, Mom, & Mother-in-law before we headed into the theatre to find out seats.

Some Christmas Carolers before the show.

The beautiful IRT.

Mom & Grandma in their seats awaiting the start of the show!

The snowy stage!

It was a wonderful show - the cast was superb! My mom has now created a list of other plays she would like to see in the near future. ;)

Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays from the Swissy Household! :)

These pics are from a few "Christmases" ago but I have forgotten to upload this year's tree pics to this computer. :) Either way, I figured you would get the idea.

This year's "fun" thing about having a Christmas tree & Mr. Rusty cat...is that he likes to get on his hind legs and look up the middle of the tree. We only notice this because the tree starts moving and we just see Rusty's tail sticking out. Yeah, not. cool. So while I was recovering from my lovely stomach bug yesterday (a blessing & a curse actually - weekend was horrible but it's helping w/ portion control, I guess?), the hubster was using our trusty spray bottle to stop him from shaking the tree. Needless to say, it was quite comical. Rusty also likes to "sink his teeth" into the gifts as well. His own Hallmark stamp, if you will. Can you tell he's our entertainment in the house? Rob and I are way boring without this feline. I think that's part of the reason why our friends come around as often as they do. ;)

So Christmas is now...10 days away? Is that true? It's the busiest mailing day of the year & I think I'm (almost) done w/ all our Christmas shopping. As for Christmas baking, way behind this year, which is totally not like me. We added some new traditions though earlier this month so I think that is why I'm running a little behind.

One of those fun events was the MPCC Christmas Tea:

The Lovely Ladies :)

I took many pics of other tables around us that I liked for inspiration for next year. I won't, however, be making 6 dozen cookies again. That was 6 dozen too many since I took them all home w/ me. Lesson learned. :) I'm looking forward to the after Christmas sales even more now! We're going to have a rockin' table next year!
Let's see - other things? Well, I got new glasses:

A little more "spunky", I think. Rob thinks I should work in an art gallery now. Only one co-worker noticed the new specs, which I find funny because they look "so different" to me (and to Rob) but everyone else either think they look the same or...they couldn't careless. :)

I don't have any recent pics of this, but I've been scrapbooking too! A group of lovely ladies (that just keeps on growing!) get together monthly to scrapbook together - it's been great so far! I'm really enjoying it :) Looking forward to the January get-together!

Also, if you have a minute (or 5), PLEASE check out my good friend, Melissa's blog. She's on my Beachbody Team & she is a joy to work (out) with :) All-around fab person!

So that's me for the moment.

Happy Holidays!!

3 Years Ago Today

Three years ago today...I was dressed in an ivory gown with a lace overlay. My hair & make-up perfected, surrounded by friends and family...standing at the alter facing my mighty man. :)

It's hard to believe we said our vows just three years ago. It seems that so much has changed, yet, not that much. Some things that come to my mind (in no particular order!) is our home, our cars, our salaries, the (lesser) amount of debt we have, the recession, no H1N1 scare three years ago...the day was just as sunny but much cooler and so windy.

Things I remember from our wedding day:
My fab bridesmaids - we had the best time :)
My cousin (flowergirl) counting down the minutes until 2:30 (so helpful...lol)

Forgetting the bubbles & my Uncle-in-Law being kind enough to make the trip to get them.
Hyperventilating right before walking down the aisle - it freaked my poor dad out!

Then my maid-of-honor, Alissa, turning around and saying "Beth! You're fine!"
I remember smiling a whole lot.
The ceremony is still a blur - I didn't want it to be. I tried to remain focused but it's like the moments slipped away so darn fast. But I do know I meant what I said ;)
I remember my bustle breaking within a half hour or so of arriving to the reception hall.
The reception coordinator asked where my husband was...and I yell "OH! I have a HUSBAND!" hah - that was my "first" realization.
Dancing my booty off at the reception - Rocky Top was a HUGE hit :)
Smearing cake on my hubby's face
Being so thankful to have such wonderful people to celebrate with
Rob taking my garter off w/ his teeth...lol
And finally...how delicious the Domino's Pizza was at midnight in the hotel. I was SO hungry :)

It's fun to reflect on such an awesome day...and I really hope others that were able to attend found it as fun.

Cheers to us, babe! Looking forward to reflecting and celebrating many more anniversaries together. :)

Thanks for reading, y'all :)
